I am writing to share guidance for Graduate and Undergraduate Students that have jobs related to academic instruction, e.g., working as teaching assistants, graders, tutors, preceptors, etc. and their faculty supervisors, during the COVID-19 mitigation period.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is now impacting more than 70 countries and the Centers for Disease Control is updating Travel Notices daily. The University’s public health committee is monitoring CDC for the latest information and posting updates on our Coronavirus Information page.

Modifications to our protocols and practices for student class absences to align with the advice from the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on how best to limit the spread of infectious diseases, especially with the current concern over the spread of Coronavirus / COVID-19. 

Amid growing concerns surrounding COVID-19, the disease caused by the 2019 coronavirus, we want to remind the campus community to refer to the Campus Health coronavirus website for updates, which can be accessed at University of Arizona Campus Health.

Travel Update for Italy and Iran: Effective immediately, all academic and business travel to Italy and Iran for University of Arizona graduate and undergraduate students is suspended, and will not be authorized until further notice, due to the current outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). 

Travel Update for China: Effective immediately, all academic and business travel to China is suspended for University of Arizona faculty, staff, and students, and will not be authorized until further notice, due to current outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
