Provost Prelock's Holiday Message
Wishing you a wonderful and restful holiday break.
Dear Nina,
As we approach the end of the fall semester and the calendar year, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for your outstanding work and dedication. Your unwavering commitment to student success is inspiring.
This year began with my engagement in campus conversations that allowed me to connect with students, faculty, staff and community members. Hearing your perspectives has been invaluable. Your insights have been instrumental in shaping the Academic Success Goals , which guide our efforts to strengthen student success and enhance the experience and excellence of our staff and faculty. I look forward to continuing opportunities to listen and learn how I can better support you in doing your best work.
I recognize that 2025 has brought significant challenges and considerable changes. Higher education is navigating a period of disruption, from demographic shifts to evolving workforce needs. I am deeply grateful for your resilience, patience and steadfast support—often behind the scenes—that keeps our university moving forward. It does not go unnoticed.
This semester has highlighted our collective strength, creativity and commitment. As the holiday season approaches, I encourage you to take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy meaningful moments with your loved ones. Prioritizing your well-being is essential to our continued progress and shared success.
Year-end is also an important moment to celebrate your accomplishments. The contributions you make every day have a meaningful impact across our university, and I want to acknowledge the positive difference your work creates.
I am excited about the opportunities 2026 will bring for us to continue working together to fulfill our shared promise of supporting student success.
Wishing you a wonderful and restful holiday break.
Warmly,
Patty
