Improve the graduate student experience in conversations with the provost.

Dear graduate students,
As Provost, I serve as the university’s chief academic officer. My role is to ensure that you receive a high-quality education, the mentorship and resources you need to thrive, and that your experience at the U of A prepares you to make meaningful contributions in your field and beyond.
As part of my commitment to understanding the full student experience, I am hosting small-group conversations with students, staff, faculty, and community members. I would like to personally invite you to join one of the two graduate student-focused sessions I am hosting this fall.
I want to hear your thoughts on how to best structure students services and the student experience, including the Student Culture and Engagement Hub. I also want to know about your graduate education, research, teaching, coursework, and any barriers you may face as you pursue your academic and professional goals. Your insights will help guide how we strengthen support systems and academic structures across campus – immediately, and for years to come.
Each session is limited to 20 participants, on a first-come basis. Sessions will take place on the main campus in Tucson. Location information and discussion prompts will be shared in advance with registered participants.
Sessions Details:
Friday, Sept. 5, 10–11 a.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2–3 p.m.
Thank you for everything you contribute to the university, from advancing knowledge through research and scholarship to mentoring undergraduates and enriching our academic community. I look forward to hearing your perspectives.
With appreciation,
Patricia A. Prelock
Provost and Chief Academic Officer
