The Tuition Flow Task Force (PDF)

August 1, 2008

The Tuition Flow Task Force was created to research how tuition revenues can be directed back to academic units in a more coordinated and incentivized way. Any reforms will be implemented in several phases, the first of which is to weigh the possible value of a new approach to the tuition components of the UA budget. The tuition funds flow report is the result of that first phase. The next phase is to develop models for how to allocate elements of the university budget to support our mission. Should we decide to move forward, the third phase would be to implement a new budget model. In its research on universities that have implemented such models, the committee found that reforming the flow of tuition revenues is a multi-year process that needs to be transparent and open to broad input, and that is the approach that will be followed at the University.
